So for any follow Irish girls out there ( or of course the boys as well) you will be well aware of Brown Thomas. Located in Cork, Limerick , Galway and of course Dublin. It is our own version of Harrods or Saks fifth avenues. Its a mecca for all things glamour, luxury and beauty. As a child, and even now in my 20’s I love going in to Brown Thomas on Grafton Street just to admire the clothes, the bags, the jewelry….. Its my own little sanctuary when I’m stressed or need to think.
Last night Brown Thomas on Grafton Street launched the Art & Style Exhibition. Art & Style promotes the work of exceptional emerging visual artists. The exhibitions bring together a broad collection of original work by these artists in many forms such as Paintings, Prints, Instillation, Video, Sound and Sculpture pieces.
In Dublin, Brown Thomas is showcasing more than 60 unique pieces from 17 Dublin- based artists. a were selected by Brown Thomas Creative Director John Redmond and a young artist Stephen Morris. They really picked well as the pieces showcased are beautiful.
As an art lover I will more than likely be visiting this exhibition more than once, and I urge each and every one of you too if you are near enough to do so!! The exhibition will run until Mid- June in all Brown Thomas stores, with a total of 36 contemporary Irish artists showcasing their work. This is definitely a great opportunity to support Irish and support the great talent we produce.
