Summer Series – The Hair Edit; My Must Have Summer Essentials

Summer Hair Essentials

While the sun, sea, sand and tanned skin is a major benefit of the Summer, dry hair is definitely not! Here are some of my must have hair care Summer essentials.

Summer Hair Essentials

I bloody love this sunny weather! There’s nothing better at all, especially when a tan comes with it (although gals remember to use your SPF!!). Although the sun is an essential to keep my skin looking healthy, and not as pale as I am, my poor hair gets a serious battering from the summer sunshine – however over the last while I have found a few must haves that are my suitcase essentials to keep my hair looking (relatively) perfect while the temperatures are soaring!

Kerastase – CC Cream

Up until last summer, CC cream was a beauty makeup product, a colour correcting cream to keep your skin an even shade under make up….well no no no – CC Cream can also be for the hair. The Kerastase Colour Correction Complete is the perfect product for any colour treated locks, even my  balayage do, in the sun! It will nourish and ensure your coloured locks stay perfect. Also the tiny size is perfect for 2 weeks in the sun!

Philip Kingsley – Swimcap

Summer not only means a fresh golden suntan, natural or from the bottle – but also a few weeks frolicking in the sea or by the pool. However while this can be the best fun, the pool and sea can really reek havoc on your locks. Swimcap to the rescue, and its just that. This swim cap protects your hair from the harsh affects of the sea and pool – but to be honest I love it because it stops you developing post beach greasy locks!!!

Kerastase – Nectar Thermique

The Kerastase Nectar Thermique is gold to my hair. I adore this mask for not only after a shower but also after a day in the pool. As obsessed as I am with the Philip Kingsley – Swimcap, nothing beats lying in the sun with a hair mask in, just make sure to have a hairbrush in your beach bag!

Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Oil Elixir Intensive Repair Treatment*

People need to embrace hair oils. I love nothing more than a pre shower dose of oil for an over night treatment, or a post style application to ensure sleek locks. During the summer, oil is amazing for a beach treatment if you are not planning on getting grout hair wet. This Kardashian Beauty Black Seed Oil* has really become a favourite. It is sleek without being heavy on the hair! What more can you ask for.

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturing Spray

What beach bag is complete without a sea salt spray? I’ll tell you – NONE! Sea Salt Spray is a beach essential. Wet Hair? A few sprays and your locks have stepped of a Victoria Secret catalogue. At first I wasn’t sold, but along with the masks – a hair brush is an essential first step!

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal

Along with a nourishing Shampoo, every gal, and guy, needs a good nourishing conditioner on their holidays. Lately I am loving the Charles Worthington Moisture Seal. Not only does it smell OUT.OF.THIS.WORLD – But it is nourishing and makes your hair so super silky.

Shu Uemura Art of Hair – Wonder Worker

When a product has ‘Wonder Worker’ in the title – you expect some serious results, and this Shu Uemura beauty delivers! The Wonder Worker promises to Hydrate, Smooth, Detangle, Condition, Boost Radiance, Tame Frizz and add a Silky Smooth finish! I love using it when I dry my hair naturally as it is a one stop product to allow me to wake up with perfectly sleek hair.

I hope I have given you some major hair product envy, but also haven’t harmed your bank balance too much! Just remember that dry course hair is never idea, and a week away in the sun can really cause a month of dry hair damage! Good hair care is essential!
