Get the perfect foundation base that both covers those pimples and leaves you fresh and glowing
Lately I’ve noticed a variety of similar comments and queries on my Insta and snapchat / insta stories ranging from “Ohh your makeup looks fab” “You look so glowy” “What foundation do you use”. While a lot of it is down to my skincare, thank you Image, I do have a little secret up my sleeve that I’ve been testing out and keeping for a blogpost when I’ve perfected my method.
Say hello to my holy grail to achieve dewy glowing skin!
A blend of these beauties and your foundation no longer feels cakey. The best promotion of these wonderful products is that even himself noticed a difference in my skin, and thats saying something for the man that only ever comments on my eyebrows, tbh he’s a fabulous reminder to pop into the benefit boutique!
The Ingredients To Glowing Skin
My essentials for that flawless finish are;
Beauty Blender (Pro Sponge / Micro)
Benefit Porefessional Matte Rescue,*
Nars Light Reflecting Setting Powder (also available in a loose powder) ,
Achieve that glow….
Allow your skincare routine to absorb fully into your face before applying primer. Trust me on this one – I’ve learnt the hard way. Once your skin is no longer wet and tacky, say 5ish minutes or enough time to brush your teeth and file your nails, apply your primer. I’ve played around with a number of different primers to achieve this glow and hands down the Benefit Porefessional Matte Rescue,* is one of my favourites. Applying a matte primer for a glowing look may seem mad but it calms down my skin and allows the foundation do the work. It also holds my foundation in place more than any other primer I know off.
On a mixing palette depot your Nars All Day Luminous and Benefit Sun Beam, I’ve played around with the ratios and a 5:3 works best for added glow, yes my ratios are particular! I adore my Sun Beam all on it’s own but since I’ve started to blend it with foundations I have a whole new love for this beauty. Mix together with your foundation and take around 2:3’s on the brush and gently brush into the face, leaving the remaining for top ups with a damp beauty blender. I’ve found this technique really reminds you when you need to clean your brushes as it buffs in perfectly with a fresh clean brush but takes that little bit longer with one that is, shall we say, loved!
If you feel necessary apply concealer and then top with the YSL Touche Eclat for added glow.Blend this into the skin using a damp Beauty Blender. Allow your foundation to settle into the skin before applying the Nars Light Reflecting Setting Powder . In light feathery motions brush the Nars powder across the face to cover but not over load with product. In a matter of seconds your skin is looking gorgeous and dewy ready for some brows, lashes, bronzer and highlight.
Hopefully my tips give you that glowly finish you are striving for.
You gorgeous thing Roisin!
