My Top Tanning Tips For Summer

I’ve posted a good bit lately about my summer routine with my favourite Hawaiian Tropic products. On holidays I’m a serious tanner, although I don’t tan my face I do tan the rest of my body. With my SPF Factors I use these babies to make sure I get the best out of my few weeks of sun a year.

Thankfully, thanks to my dear mother, I tan pretty easily, but as my father is a pure Irish red head, parts of my body don’t tan at alllll. I’ve spent years trying to tan certain body parts but they just wont. Within the first day of a holiday my chest, stomach and back are as tanned as can be, yet my legs and arms take a little bit longer. Recently I have found my magical tanning combination which gives me some of the best tans I have ever had in my life. These are my top tanning secrets.

Australian Gold Tanning Oil-

I use tanning oil over an SPF to give me a deeper tan. It does not interfere with any SPF but gives you a deeper darker tan when used. I have picked up this beauty from Australian Gold*, as I’ve read some incredible reviews about the range, and they will be with me every day on the beach this year!It is a Dry Oil Spray that dries into the skin insanely fast, so your not left with a horrible residue, and it intensifies your natural tan.  I would advise that you only use these when you already have a base tan to ensure you minimise burning, as nobody looks good with a red body.

Piz Buin Tan Intensifying After Sun

My good friend Caroline put me on to this stuff last summer when she joined me in Spain, and I couldn’t be happier that she did. This after sun enhances your natural tan and gives you a deeper and darker glow. I began using this during the middle of my holiday and I immediately began to see a difference. This baby contains Tanimal which is a tan intensifying plan extract that helps to double the production of the skins natural tanning pigments. It also provides 24 hourmotorisation which is extremely important when tanning.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration After Sun *

I know I already have one after sun mentioned, but you really can’t go wrong with Aloe based products when tanning. I always put mine in the fridge and apply it at night when I am going to bed, unlike the Piz Buin which I apply when getting ready for my nights out on holidays. The Aloe can be almost sticky at times so i find it works best when going to bed so it can fully absorb and prep your skin for the next day of tanning ahead.

If you popping away for a while and planning to come home with a tan definitely use these babies to ensure you can have the best possible tan.

I know in 2 weeks when I pop away I will have these on me at all time.

Please also note that natural tanning is my own choice. I know many people disagree with this and I am definitely not promoting it however I have regular mole checks and wear a high SPF during the non summer months I feel i can let myself enjoy these few weeks every year. I am lucky to have skin that tans very well, if you are prone to burning I would recommend you do not try these products.

Now that the rant is over – Happy Tanning
